Tuning with Pitch Raise

A pitch raise is a preliminary tuning performed on a piano that has gone significantly flat, a common issue for pianos that haven't been tuned in a year or more. Before performing a standard tuning, Mike the Piano Tuner will systematically raise the tension on all 200+ strings, bringing your piano’s overall pitch much closer to standard and equalizing the tension across the instrument’s structure. Once the piano is close to its proper pitch, the small, final adjustments of a standard tuning won't cause the entire instrument to go out of tune.
